During this taster workshop, you will learn how to use a pencil at a good basic level: controlling a line; shading techniques for example.
Classes with Faye Gagel-Panchal are limited to just 5 students so that you receive more attention and are able to learn more about drawing and developing your skills at your own pace. Please bring your own sketch pad (colemans, WH Smiths, Hobbycraft, The Works all have good sketch pads. Additional drawing materials are available for your use during the lesson, or feel free to bring your own: Individual sheets of paper, small drawing boards, pencils, charcoal, drawing pens and desktop easels. Space is limited so unfortunately there is not the opportunity foranyone to use standing easels/large drawing boards etc. Materials can be bought at the end of the class if you want continue at home.
Faye Gagel-Panchal is an exhibiting artist in Art in the Heart and has had a long-term part time career as an artist, from completing her BA Hons in Fine Art (Printmaking) in Kingston Upon Thames. Her original prints, landscapes, portraits, still lifes, garden flower paintings and current textile inspired mixed media work are in private collections throughout the UK and USA. Faye regularly tutors in drawing on a private basis and has run creative workshops for the past few years. Her Drawing for Beginners Taster Sessions are a new lunch time series of 1 hour sessions, aimed at both complete beginners and as a refresher for those with a little experience who haven't drawn for some time and want to build their confidence. Sessions will range from basic use of pencils, charcoal and drawing pens, to drawing basic 3-d objects. There will also be the opportunity for those who have attended most of the initial sessions, or have some drawing experience, to draw a self- portrait.

The workshop costs £10.00 online. This includes 1 hour of expert tuition from Fine artist and Printmaker Faye Gagel-Panchal to learn something new, creative and fun. All in the wonderful surroundings of the ground breaking Art in the Heart gallery. You can also buy extra materials to develop your skills at home.
There is all day parking just off Bishops Road at the back of the council buildings 3 minutes walk away. Alternatively there is all day £3 parking at the Wirrina car park near the Regional Swimming Pool on Bishop's Road. 10-15 minutes walk from gallery
